Pallet Truck Part - A pallet stacker is a type of pallet jack that is used to move, stack and lift palletized commodities that are overly arduous for manual lifting. Its key purpose is to load and unload pallets on vehicles, in addition to transferring pallets to and from an assortment of locations within a stockroom space or warehouse. For the most part pallet stackers are built of heavy duty materials to endure extreme weights. Pallet stackers are often called pallet jacks. They may be operated from a seated, upright or walk-behind position. Pallet stackers are divided into manual and powered styles.

Pallet jacks are commonly comprised of a pair of forks that are capable of sliding underneath a pallet, capable of raising to a preferred height or moving it to a particular location. The engine section or casing houses the gas-run, electronic or hydraulic gear that powers the appliance.

Commonly, pallet jacks come in walk-behind designs that are hand-powered. This means that they are moved by pushing and pulling the jack into its preferred location, while raising the heavy pallets can be operated hydraulically making this task much easier. Using a foot pedal or handle raises the stacker's forks. Squeezing a lever or trigger returns the forks to the floor. These designs of pallet stackers are ideal for lighter loads of up to approximately 1 ton or 907.18 kg.

Electric or gas driven pallet stackers can accommodate extreme lifting weights of up to 5 tons or 4535.92 kg. They are physically less demanding than the manual versions due to the mechanized power to raise and let down the stacker's forks. These models are steered by turning the handle in a specific direction. There is a button on the knob that functions to lift and lower the forks. A throttle found on the stacker's grips moves the machine forward and in reverse. This style of equipment is commonly referred to as a forklift and is operated from a sit-down position.

Picking the right model of pallet jack can be somewhat critical as designs will have varying lift features, together with varying fork widths. Some models of jacks might only permit two pallets to be loaded at one time, whilst other versions may be capable to load several pallets. Some designs of these forklifts feature an adaptable fork so as to permit the jack to slide under pallets of atypical sizes and shapes. These versions are helpful when various styles of pallets are used within a workspace.
